Picking the perfect song for a good cry is like when you’re eating your favourite spicy food. Sometimes people trying to get rid of the pain after eating spicy food by drinking a glass of cold water, it seems refreshing but it doesn’t really help. But by drinking a glass of warm water it makes you feel better even though you’re doubling your pain at first. The spiciness is different from any kind of tastes that our surface receptors received, spiciness only can be tasted by the Vanilloid receptor and it makes us feel the pain. Also stronger the spiciness it could be releasing the adrenaline and endorphins from our brain.

That Chemical reaction will trigger happiness through us then it will release our stress. So I think picking the perfect sad song for a good cry is the best way to bring back your happiness. I know it sounds odd but c’mon, life is a paradox.

So here is my 10 favourite songs for you so you can have a good cry to

10. a storm passes while the sad song from Pixar’s up plays in your head

I put this on the number ten because the song itself sounds very cute. But, the oddly specific title makes it weird. But the power of the storm gives me chill feeling and this song gives me the feeling of reminiscing on a memory I never experienced before. Just listen to this and close your eyes then try to remember where did the last time you play with the toys that you had when you’re just a little kid. Where are they? Are they okay? Aren’t they lonely? Just think about it. What if they’re still waiting for you to come back?

9. Uncomfortably Numb — American Football ft Hayley Williams

Growing up is the most fucked up natural process I’ve ever experienced so far.

“I blamed my father in my youth
Now as a father, I blame the booze”

Growing up from not so happy middle-class family is sucks. I blamed my father because my fate is not that happy and makes me re-think my existence like why out of billions and billions of people in this world coincidentally I’m just being me?

Every time I listen to this song it always gives me another perspective about marriage and having kids in future. I can’t just imagine that my beloved son needs to live in this place? Why should he? Does he need to experience all the bad shit at life? He’s my beloved son, I just want him to be happy. What if he hates me?

American Football ft Hayley Williams is number one emo crossovers I would never expect.

8. The Drugs Don’t Work — The Verve

Yes, I’m a hopeless romantic person. I’ve been listening to The Verve’s music since I can remember. At first, I’m not sure what are they talking about but as long as times go this song is represented my future by being a lonely old man without love and still thinking about my junior high school crush that I will never have. I’m trying to remember her face since the last time I saw her face but I’m 87 years old now, then I took the drugs just so I can remember her face again but the drugs don’t work they just make me worse but I know I’ll see her face again…. in the afterlife

7. Street Spirit (Fade Out) — Radiohead

I don’t know if it is just me being scared of life or I just can’t dream anymore. For me, nothing is important in life, nothing I do matters, achieve this, achieve that, I’m just an individual among species of primate with billions of relative living on tiny stone in-universe with a society built and absolute grief.

Everything that worries you will die with you. All of your internal struggles will be swallowed by death.

6. In my veins — Andrew Belle

Not everything happens as you plan for it. Things break, even when you don’t want them to. If you have a chance to repair all the bad shit or things you want to change until you don’t have any disappointment that will burden you. Are you still sure that your couple is still your “couple”?

Because sometimes I think that something that I called it as a choice is not a choice or something I wanted. It is just something that built from a tragedy or situation I’ve ever experienced before. Does he/she is the best because they are the best for you? or they just someone that we deserve because of all the things that happened to us made them “the best” for us?

5. Broken — Jake Bugg

Have you ever shoot your shot and the response is something you feared the most? And you felt lost and broken-hearted? I’m asking because I never

Jake Bugg is just 25 years old but his voice and the vibe from his song gives me the feeling of being rejected in 1967.

4. Mystery of love — Sufjan Stevens

Love is pleasurable but it can be so painful when it ends.

I don’t know, man. I’m already crying right now, just go watch Call me by your name such a beautiful movie.

3. Never Meant — American Football

Saying goodbye to someone that been filled your void before is really sucks. Not to be overly dramatic but I think the song is indeed half-ironic since things are kinda tragic — it is like I’ve been trying to keep holding something that is dead because we just didn’t want to be alone. It’s better that the relationship ends. Someone said,” The quicker you can get it out of his minds, the quicker you can stop missing what they used to.” but does it really happen or you just pretend everything and anything between you and him was never meant?

2. Thinkin bout you — Frank Ocean

My eyes don’t shed tears when I’m listening to this song… but, boy, they bawl when I’m thinkin bout you.

1.Self Control — Frank Ocean

Have you ever feel so lonely then catch up with someone you vibe with? but then you just discovered something really painful like..like..like when you just found out they already had a crush or maybe gf/bf? Yea, I wish I was there, I wish we had grown up on the same advice and our time was right.

This song represented about something which many of us have or will eventually experience, especially while we are still young. Frank really makes me WISH that it turns out to be an awkward encounter, just so it’s easier for you to forget about the possibility of getting with him or her.

But I don’t care. Just keep a place for me, I’ll sleep between y’all, it’s nothing.
